If you want to be a leader and influencer in the face painting industry, you have to come up with some original face paint designs. Something that other artists are going to 'Oh that is really good! I wonder how she/he did that!' Its really important to learn from others, I have also practiced other artists designs and tries to perfect them, this is how we learn. The expertise comes when you can take what you have learnt and use the skills to create your own designs.

I love Pinterest. This is where I get some of the most unique and beautiful ideas from. I could type in 'crowns' and explore the many different designs that are there and try and paint them. Even finding inspiration when you are going for a walk, you might see a pine cone and paint that using a colorful one stroke technique. Your imagination is the limit.
Join face painting sessions with other painters
This is a fun way to really get to learn some new skills, keep up to date with key trends and gain the confidence to grow as an artist! Many face painting retail shops host events and workshops where you can join in and learn new skills.
